On May 24, Mayor John Ducey and the Township Council were joined by hundreds of residents as they cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Lake Riviera Park. The new park includes two playgrounds, two basketball courts, a gazebo, a refurbished beach and fishing pier.
“The residents of Lake Riviera have been waiting for over a decade for their park to be renovated,” said Mayor Ducey. “The Council and I are confident that this park will prove to be worth their wait.”
Lake Riviera had not been updated in over twenty-five years.
In addition to the above mentioned amenities, the park also includes two lawn areas that can be used for events such as concerts and movies. The township will also be installing a boat/kayak launch in the coming weeks that will provide access to the lake.
The design of Lake Riviera Park was done by CME Engineering and the construction was done by Jamali Developers.
Lake Riviera Park was the fourth park or playground that has been renovated through Mayor Ducey and the Council’s Park Renovation Program. Previous projects included the Windward Beach Playground, Bay Harbor Beach and Herbertsville Park (formerly known as Colorado Park). Future renovation projects will include Hank Waltonowski Park, Bernie Cooke Park and Bayside Park.
